Completion/Graduation and Transfer Rates
Pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) of 2008, Macomb Community College makes the completion/graduation and transfer rates of certificate or degree-seeking, first-time, full-time undergraduate students available to prospective and current students.
IPEDS Completion/Graduation Rate 12%, Transfer Rate 26%
According to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) definition, the percentage of the students who began their studies in Fall 2019, and completed/graduated within 3 years (150% of normal time) is 12%. The transfer rate is 26%.
IPEDS includes:
- Students who are first-time in any college
- Student who begin studies in the fall or summer term
- Students who declare a degree or certificate program
IPEDS excludes:
- Students who start in the winter term
- Students who transfer to Macomb
- Students who start part time (taking less than 12 credits per term)
- Students who are undecided on their major in their first term
IPEDS data represents approximately 5% of the students enrolled at Macomb.
VFA Completion/Graduation 33%, Transfer Rate 47%
Because the VFA measures include part-time students who need more time to complete a degree or transfer, the VFA measures are calculated after six years not three.
Of the credential-seeking students who began their studies in Fall 2015, within 6 years (300% of normal time) the completion/graduation rate is 33%. The transfer rate is 47%.
VFA includes:
Full-time and part-time students
Students who are first-time in any college
Students who transfer to Macomb
The VFA measures include a percentage of the student body, approximately 10% of the credit students who attend Macomb annually.
